Cast iron shutter hardware is often a fantastic strategy to introduce a colonial architectural style for your property. Making use of shutter dogs on your windows is especially essential as these pieces are fashioned specifically to keep your shutters in the open position. Shutter hardware, in its earliest form, was produced from wood and leather (as metal was far as well high-priced for the popular homeowner) and commonly home created. Unfortunately the have to produce additional resilient hardware became a necessity over time as the shutters of a property were important in providing security for that inhabitants and protection against the weather. The use of iron for shutter puppies is usually a good example of Colonial architecture.

Cast iron shutter dogs are a amazing and really resilient solution to update your older or worn shutter hardware. A Shutter dog may be very basic in pattern or highly ornate, depending on a homeowner’s private preference. Shutter puppies are mounted directly for the exterior of the home (please note not all shutter dogs can mount on every single surface along with the kind of mount is commonly specified) and turn to maintain the shutters open.

Shutter puppies are produced right now – allowing you to incorporate their patterns onto your windows. It is usually a uncomplicated strategy to develop a typical theme on the exterior of your home but bear in mind to adhere to a number of straightforward steps when replacing older shutter hardware. Very first, make sure you examine if the shutter dog you’re purchasing is made to be installed on wood, brick, stucco or frame construction. Second, replace the older hinges, latches and bolts with iron hardware as perfectly to aid tie the appear together for you. You are able to also come across cast metal door and gate hardware to further create a typical theme.

Cast metal shutter dog are readily available on-line as effectively as in several residence decorating magazines. Search for cast metal construction to guarantee higher durability and make sure to ask questions.

These cast metal shutter puppies is usually discovered on the net as a result of LookInTheAttic & Company and they offer free design assistance and assist. Blizzard, one of the company’s most popular colors, was installed as the kitchen countertop of the project.

The home, which is engineered to be transportable via roadway, is an example of elegant and sustainable living in the desert. The one-bedroom, 600-square-foot prototype residence can be connected to utilities or rely on things such as rainwater harvesting, natural ventilation or solar orientation to reduce energy and water use.

Taliesen Mod Fab™ was designed and built by graduate and undergraduate students at the school. Michael P. Johnson was one the faculty members guiding the project. The architect began his practice in Arizona in 1977. Johnson was a professor at the school from 1990 – 1997.

“I choose CaesarStone for all of my projects,” said Johnson. I like solid colors without variation as well as the size the slabs of material come in.”

Wright formally initiated the School of Architecture in 1932, when 23 apprentices came to live and learn at Taliesen. He purchased land in Scottsdale and, in 1937 began construction of a new kind of desert architecture at Taliesen West. After Wright’s death an architectural firm was incorporated to continue the practice and to mentor the apprentices.

The structure can be visited on the student-led Taliesin West Desert Shelter Tour, Saturdays at 1:30 until April 25, 2009.

About CaesarStone

CaesarStone is the original quartz surface manufacturer.

Looking for magazines in London

We have Cosmopolitan for women, Good Housekeeping for homemakers, Maxim for men, Glamour for celebrity worshippers, Anorak for kids, Football365 for football fans, in fact there is something for every one. For a long time the print media was without a magazine devoted to gay community. Every sector of the market was targeted and the gay community was unswervingly ignored. However, all this changed when the media moguls saw the power of pink pound. There were suddenly not one or two but several gay magazines on the market, that were about gays, by the gays and for the gays.

Magazines in the UK

From health to wealth, from entertainment to child rearing, from beauty to housekeeping, sports to celebrity gossip, there are magazines for every possible need in the UK. There are magazines for scuba divers and magazines for science geeks, you name it and they have it. Earlier gays used to read women magazines that featured lot of hot male bodies on display and Playgirl was one of their all time favorite. The content was obviously not targeted towards men and hence gays longed for a full-fledged magazine they could call their own.

Gay magazines

Some of the older magazines in the UK, targeted towards gays, are The Pink Paper and Gay Times. Other gay magazines such as Attitude, Boyz, Refresh, Bent, and AXM magazine are relatively younger but by no chance are young in talent and content. The fact that gays have relatively higher purchasing power than their straight counterparts, has given rise to these magazines. Most of these magazines have captured a fair share of market and have top-notch companies advertising with them.

UK fashion magazines

Wondering if distressed jeans and checked shirts are in rage or not? Well, UK fashion magazines will tell you all these and much more. Some of the leading publications that give you an insight in the fantastic world of fashion are Elle, Vogue, InStyle, Look, and the list goes on. These glossy magazines are perfect for you if you want to be up to date about ever changing world of fashion.

Glamour magazines

Celebrity or glamour magazines are great for people who are tempted by celebrity scoops and scandals. Glamour, Hello, OK, more and Now are just to name a few! From catching celebrities without make-up to who’s dating who, you will find all spicy tit-bits in these magazines. Many gays take pride in their knowledge of celeb lifestyle and news and these magazines give them an edge over others. These magazines primarily target females but now have a universal appeal.

Man’s magazines

When you think of men’s magazines, you think of sports and cars. However, men magazines are not what they used to be earlier. Men can get first hand information on everything from cover girls, celebrity girls, hot babes, men’s fashion tips, men’s designer and street clothing information, cars, gadgets and sports of course. FHM and Maxim are leading publications followed by others such as Men’s Health, Esquire and Smooth.

You can subscribe to all these magazines online and don’t even need to go to a local magazine shop anymore!

Webmaster associated gay shop related site. This site provides various information on music store, men’s watches and shoes store.
Nestled in the suburbs of Raleigh, North Carolina, Apex is a relatively small family friendly town with more than a few good reasons to live there. With a motto like “The Peak of Good Living” what else could it be, but a top notch home? Five good reasons to live in Apex are almost a no-brainer, and with such a beautiful countryside, it’s almost hard to stop at five.

Positioned so close to the State Capital of Raleigh and the industrial center of North Carolina, Apex is a perfect location for finding work and getting a decent head start on the grind of east coast living. The unemployment rate is near non-existent and median incomes are in the $70,000+ range.

Alternately, Apex offers the feel of a small town, complete with a country style, turn of the century downtown setting and friendly people without the worry and stress of big city living. For those with a big city job and the stress that comes with it, finding a quiet little home in Apex to nestle your family into is a wonderful relief, especially with such a small town atmosphere.

With an exponentially growing population, the city has still managed to maintain that small town atmosphere and offer a wide array of state of the art services and offerings. The school system is top notch and the growth of the city is being handled with the care of a small town and the heart of entrepreneurial spirit.

The school system is part of one of the most developed, respected systems in the country, with colleges and universities in the area including Duke, NC State, and UNC at Chapel Hill. The Triangle Area offers a wide array of educational options for learners of all ages.

Voted the #1 small town by Business North Carolina magazine in 1994, Apex is one of the better little big places in the state to call home. Though it has grown considerably, there are no shortages of the kind of loving small town amenities that make some of the South’s best homes and in turn some of the country’s. For those looking for a good place to settle down with a family and a good job in the Research Triangle, you could do no better than and a whole lot worse than Apex, North Carolina.

The World Health Organization estimates that one-quarter to one-third of cancer cases are related to being overweight and inactive. Research has found that weight gain can lead to a higher risk for colon, prostate, endometrial, esophageal, kidney and post-menopausal breast cancer.

Excess fat cells function as hormone pumps to produce higher levels of insulin and estrogen. When this occurs, cells divide more rapidly and if something in the cell goes awry, the resultant cancer cell also reproduces and follows a pattern of rapid replication.

Lets be honest, people want to lose weight and they want immediate results, but this is just wishful thinking. To lose weight permanently and effectively it will be a rather slow progress, all depending on your metabolic rate and how much you need to lose.

There are however some proven tried and true methods for aiding in the weight loss process, and I can make you familiar with them.

1. Don’t skip breakfast. Whatever you do follow this advice, because otherwise you are much more likely in fact prone to binge later in the day.

2. Don’t eat anything for at least an hour before going to bed.

3. Don’t snack while watching TV. It’s acceptable to eat a meal while watching television, but never is snacking at this time acceptable.

4. Substitute fruits like; bananas, watermelon, plums, peaches, and oranges for sugary treats like; cookies and candy.

5. Substitute honey for sugar, and carob powder for chocolate in all recipes.

6. Eat more vegetables. This can even be enjoyable if you have a good cookbook like Good housekeeping’s latest edition.

7. Avoid unnecessary high calorie foods.

8. Exercise at least a half hour each day for 5 days out of the week.

When it comes to the elegant things of life the French have no rivals. Whether we are talking about fashion, interior design or furniture style, they have that “je ne sais quoi” that makes everything they touch desirable and glamorous.

French fashion has always been elegant, forward thinking and lavish, just like French furniture. If women have always wanted to wear the most beautiful clothes from the best French designers, now there is a craze for furnishing our homes with glamorous French furniture. In a way it’s like extending the fashion trends into our homes. If you want to dress yourself with the most elegant ensemble, why not dress your bedroom accordingly?

A smart and eclectic mix of different French styles will turn your house into a stylish and comfortable home. Create the perfect reading corner with a gorgeous Louis XV armchair, or turn your bedroom into a boudoir with a delightful French Armoire and a Rococo style bed – there aren’t any rooms that won’t benefit from a little French styling.

But where does this craze come from? It all definitely started in Paris, in the 17th century under Louis XIV – “le Roi Soleil” – who ruled from 1643 to 1715, the longest reign of any European monarch. The reign of the French king Louis XIV commences what experts would call the start of ‘elegant’ furniture design in France. French furniture became refined in design, with a lot of emphasis on flowing, symmetrical design. Louis XIV saw the birth of Baroque style. The Versailles Palace was decorated in a strong, dramatic and exuberant style echoing the king’s strong leadership in a period of war and colonial empire building. The French classical Baroque style was grand and impressive, a symbol of the king’s power.

The French aristocracy became obsessed with interior design, beauty, decadent living, and French furniture became desirable, and crazed for ever since.

When Louis XIV died in 1715, his five-year-old great-grandson became Louis XV. As he was too young to take the throne, his uncle Philippe, the Duke of Orleans, was appointed Regent until the king attained legal majority in 1723. The transitional period between the opulent baroque period and the less formal rococo era of Louis XV became known as French Regence.

Being Indian; be it in India, South Africa, or anywhere else in the world; our roots are grounded in conservative layers of impermeable teachings. We are in the 21st century and even so, our traditionalist principals and values remain. This is a strong point in our culture, but also a weakness. It is important to note that principals should remain steadfast only if they are commendable and impartial.

SUTRA looks back at the life of (and recognizes) the first and, to date most prominent gay activist in India.

Ashok Row Kavi was born on 1 June 1947, in Mumbai. He was educated in Mumbai’s “Bombay Scottish High School”, and then moved on to Bombay University where he achieved his Honors in Chemistry.

He later achieved a diploma in Theology from the Ramakrishna Math, at which stage he trained to be a monk. During this period he realized his homosexuality and had come to accept it. Ashok came out in 1868, when he did an interview in Savvy magazine.

SUTRA looks at an extract from an interview with Ashok Row Kavi, and Perry Brass, author of How to Survive Your Own Gay Life:

Can you tell us something about yourself? How did you end up being virtually the only openly gay man in India to speak out on the HIV issue there?

Ashok Row Kavi: “I was born in Bombay on June 1st, 1947, a premature baby not expected to live. Amma and Anna (Mom and Dad) were Brahmin refugees fleeing poverty in South India. Anna finally became a leading light in Bollywood (India’s Hollywood) and a founding member of the Indian Motion Pictures’ Producers’ Association.

I was educated in Mumbai’s elite Bombay Scottish High School from whose Secondary School I graduated. I got an Honours in Chemistry from Bombay University after two years doing textile engineering at the prestigious Victoria Jubilee Technical Institute (VJTI) in Bombay.

I did my diploma in religion and comparative theology from the Ramakrishna Math where I trained to be a monk. I also discovered my gay nature there and was given sensible counseling for it by the monks. “Accept it as natural. Whatever occurs in nature is natural though it may not be common,” advised my counselor, Swami Harshananda.

I returned from the monastery to do a post graduate in Journalism while working as a trainee in the Free Press Journal, and finally joined the “Indian Express” chain of newspapers in Bombay. I started India’s first Playboy clone, Debonair, with my English friend Anthony Van Braband in 1971.

I left the Express to start India’s first morning tabloid, The Daily in 1981, left that to become city editor of my home ground newspaper, Free Press Journal. I then became bureau chief of India’s newsweekly, The Week. There I came out, creating a ruckus in the conservative Christian management.

I quit journalism in 1990, after attending the Fifth International AIDS Conference in 1989 at Montreal, where I was aghast to see American gay men fighting for their very lives to get funding to fight AIDS.

I had come out openly as a gay man in 1986 (while at The Week), when I did an interview in Savvy, one of India’s most controversial feminist magazines, explaining what “gay” really meant. It was not only a first but started a furore because of the plain speaking I did about the numbers [of Indian men”> involved…

Before that I used to review books on homosexuality, and thus gave a good inkling that I was queer from the insights I had into the homosexual world in India. Coming out was a natural defense mechanism, but I now wonder. So many people have forgotten my long innings in journalism, human rights and my reportage in such famous cases like the Bhopal Gas Tragedy, where I was one of the first journalists to get in while thousands were dying.

I’ve become just a “gay activist,” which is a very uni-dimensional look at my life. I have interests in religion, social biology, sexuality, science and even astronomy. I have reported developments in India’s atomic energy establishment, the speeches of Indira Gandhi and her downfall, done court reporting, reported death and disaster on a huge scale. I am not just a gay activist: I am India spanning 50 years of her 5,000 year old civilization. A sliver of it, but a good representative one, no doubt.” – Mr. Ashok Row Kavi

“Who’s looking out for you?” is a repeated phrase used by Bill O’Reilly, commentator, on The Factor, with Fox News, as he religiously gives a full blown effort; body, soul and mind to be ‘fair and balanced’ in delivering truth, as he sees it. Sometimes, such controversial tidbits ends up as bitter bites in the mouths of those who disagree with Mr. O’Reilly, but I believe he gets an A for delivering information that some wished he didn’t. I, for one, welcome wake up calls. Society has a tendency to snooze through way too many truths only to wake up during the hand out of deception and lies and then swallow every bite without even making the effort to view the ‘other side of the coin.’

As a certified Life Coach, my clients contact me for various reasons. I have a habit of zeroing in on truth and hate the slightest taste of even a mixture or what some like to call ‘white lies’. So when my clients hire me to discern, divide and dissect a situation, I may take hours to research, uncover and present all sides, fairly, so that success in personal as well as career is something they can expect to receive.

The first part of 2008, a client came to me very frustrated in that he had put hundreds of dollars, a massive amount of time and extreme effort into a multiple level online marketing business that pretty much guaranteed his success. As it turned out all his efforts were for naught and his concern was more than just the loss of time, money and effort. Of course he was in it for money, but something was going on as I listened to him, that just didn’t feel right. So, with his permission, I began to investigate and the following is what I found out.

By the way, I am not advocating that all MLM businesses are run the way I’m about to share. People want into MLM marketing businesses for numerous reasons, but I believe for the most part, it’s made up of those people, just like you and me, who desire to pay their bills, make a decent living and have enough time left over to spend time with family and friends. Some will always be involved who not only want their share of the above, but they want your share also. There’s really no way of truly stopping those kinds of people from getting involved.

In principle, my clients MLM Company’s plan should work and make many participants substantial profits, if all involved were honest. Unfortunately, that’s never the case. This particular company, as in most, had a group of network marketers who came in ‘at the top’ and were advertising that no experience was necessary, because, after all, we’ll call her Sally, she had no experience and she stated, “The sales were just rolling in like crazy.” Sally was one of the very beginners in this MLM Company.

I asked my client to give me a few details on how the company was run. Two very significant things stood out above all the rest. The first was a team training call held several times a week over the phone. The calls were not only set up for the members of the MLM business, but used to speak to potential prospects considering joining. The second significant thing I noticed was a form of advertising used over and above the usual MLM mailing lists. The advertisement encouraged was a full page print ad in a popular Home Business Magazine.

I asked my client who ran the meetings and was told that Sally was the leader. Sally used the phone time to speak to individuals by answering any questions they may have about marketing and networking. She repeated phrases like “I’m here donating my time to help YOU become successful like me.”

Next I considered and even investigated the actual Home Business Magazine where the full page advertisement was placed. Now, you and I know, because we weren’t born yesterday, that a full page ad in any magazine is expensive, I may add astronomical. So where did the money come from for the ad, what did the ad say and who was in the ad? These were my next questions. I didn’t ask what the purpose of the MLM print ad was, I already knew. Or did I? Stay with me, it gets interesting…

My client shared with me that during these phone meetings, MLM members were encouraged to pool their finances and each put in a minimum of $300.00 towards the expense of the ad. The total price of the full page was around $17,000. The $300.00 would get one member credit for one month’s leads of approximately 40-60 names and phone numbers of callers who inquired about the ad.

My client had put in $600.00 for two months leads. Once the magazine came out, the magazine delivered a few leads by email and when they were called, they stated they were not interested. Yet, each week, several times a week Sally was not only bragging about all her sales, she was emailing columns of her bank statements verifying all the money she was raking in.

As I studied the ad I had a flash thought. Have you ever watched a teenage girl who tries to dress just like her movie star idol or wear her hair in the same style? How about a teenage boy who wants to hit the baseball just like his favorite player or use the same stance while he pitches? Why don’t these teens just look to one of their peers to emulate? Well, don’t we all want to follow people who are successful and impress us? Take this a step further. If we have a choice, do we want to follow after an amateur MLM marketer who’s never experienced their first sale OR one who’s bragging in a magazine that she’s “pulled in 15 sales her first month with the business and grossed over $300,000 in just a few months”, not to mention she’s “created one of the largest, fastest-growing teams in the business and is 100 percent debt free.” Hum? Which mentor or up line, do you venture to guess, would enthuse and prompt the reader more?

Oh, I don’t want to forget one thing, the whole article in the magazine wasn’t about the ‘business’ so much as it was about the ‘person’ who was the achiever in the business. And to top it off, the article just happened to leave HER full online business name, just in case the reader didn’t feel motivated to call the toll-free number at the bottom and leave their phone number for my client and/or other Home Business contributors to the ad.

Amazing what a little discernment will do. My client, and many others like him were contributing to what they were told was a mutual endeavor to be split evenly so each had a chance to present the business to their prospect. When I pointed out sentences like “Sally wants to continue to stay focused on other people’s success in the business and help many more people to find the kind of freedom that she has found,” and “Sally spends approximately 17 hours per week training HER team, the weekly training calls SHE conducts makes it easy to get started. (Her business name listed) She offers support for each member. Why, I asked my client, would anyone seriously call the 800 number below when Sally has made it so easy, simple and clear that SHE is available, so just be trained by her and be UNDER her?

As a teenager looks to one who’s already an achiever for their mentor, so Sally knew that having the article predominately about her, not the business, but about HER success, would create an enigma that she hoped no one would figure out. It’s called, money in the bank just by knowing human nature. And just to sweeten her pot, she also found a way to add her name, personal audio and a link to her site on every team members assigned business website. All in the name of, “I’m here to help.”

Warning, consider all angles prior to investing your money in MLM Companies. Not everyone is ‘look’n out for you” as Bill O’Reilly puts it. Oh, and it’s not a bad idea to find a good coach or a coaching group where others can join with you and analyze, dissect, investigate, reveal and truly focus on what’s really important to you. Some of us truly care.

© Susan David Susan David Life Coach – All Rights Reserved
